The top is actually inlaid with a stunning burl nutwood and to make it even more special, the extra 'slides' on the sides (the ones that can make this desk more than 8.5 feet wide) have been inlaid with the exact same burl 'star pattern'. We feel this desk must have always been used with a glass top, because we have also never seen an unrestored desk of this age with a mint desk...
