French Rococo Style Walnut & Gilt Bronze Bureau Plat
About the Item
An elegant French rococo style bureau plat writing desk made in walnut with ormolu accents.
Features a top with a tooled leather writing-surface within a walnut border with a serpentine bronze edge and mounts to the corners.
Three drawers to the front and three simulated drawers to the reverse, adorned with gilded bronze rocaille ornamentations.
Raised on four ormolu-mounted cabriole legs with foliate form sabots.
France 1890-1900.
