About the Item
A highly decorated and most elegant pair of Italian 19th century Baroque st. Glazed Patinated wood and Vert de Patricia marble consoles. Each wonderfully detailed console is raised on six uniquely decorated legs while being supported on six topie shaped feet. The legs are all connected by an 'X' stretcher with beautiful designs and additional bars connecting the outside legs. This wonderful stretcher is tastefully decorated with a central urn reserve accented by colorful floral vines on either side. The two front tapered legs are mounted above block mounts with a wonderful rosette carving, acanthus leaf at its base, rose colored fluted designs on the shaft, and capped with draping acanthus leaves. The apron is adorned with exceptional floral and foliate carvings, with pierced swaging garlands leading to a central mask of a mythological creature flanked by foliate garlands. Above are the stunning and smooth Vert de Patricia marble tops which follow the shape of the console and is bordered by a dentil patterned band.
