French 19th, Red and Gold Lacquered Console, Provence
About the Item
Wall console in red and gold lacquer, from the 19th century, origin France. Red marble from France, Caunes Minervois marble, also called Languedoc marble, is pale pink to blood red in color, veined with white. It has been exploited since Ancient Rome and still today. This one has been restored with iron, very solid, old restoration.
The console is in good condition, a little restoration has been carried out, in particular on chips of red lacquer. Reinforcement of the middle wooden crosspiece. (pictures attached).
Beautiful console, sober and elegant, for an entrance or a living room.
