Fabulous Demi-Lune Console, Jardiniere, Mirror available, 1810, Empire, Austria

About the Item

Wonderful demi-lune console, usable as jardiniere, made around 1810 in Austria, an original of the Empire era. This wonderful wall console has a faceted mirror in the lower area. The furniture has a substructure made of spruce, which was then veneered with mahogany and root wood (most probably stained root maple). The charming design with the solid mahogany columns, which have hand-carved capitals, testifies to the high quality of the workmanship, as well as the gold-leaf-plated decorative strips, like the oxeye band. On the top is an opening flap that reveals a metal insert (which was renewed in the 50s) that can act as a jardiniere and thus create wonderful floral arrangements. Measurements approx.: height in 38,58 - 98 cm, width 44,88 in - 114 cm, depth 22,83 in - 58 cm We are happy to be able to offer the original matching frame, please consult the reference number LU8437235189912
