Early Victorian Rosewood Library or Centre Table
About the Item
A fine early Victorian, rosewood library table in the manner of the architect and designer Richard Bridgens (1785-1846). The finely figured top, with a moulded edge above a framed carved baton and disc frieze and square paterae on each corner, is edged beneath with linked rows of pierced roundels. The table is supported on ornately carved baluster legs with sturdy splayed feet raised on brass castors and linked by a turned stretcher. English, circa 1840.
