Antique English 18th Century George II Mahogany Two Tier Card Table

About the Item

A fine and most elegant George II period two tier mahogany card table. The rounded rectangular top opens to reveal a baize, lined interior with guinea wells and places for candlesticks, there is also an unusual feature of a drawer. The second tier opens to an inlaid surface depicting draughts and backgammon squares and stars. The table retains the original mahogany rectangular frame used to secure its games pieces. This fine table is raised on four legs which are carved at the knees with foliage topped with a shell and end in pad feet.
