Unique Wardrobe in Maple by Tove Kindt Larsen from 1937

About the Item

Unique wardrobe in maple. Designed and exhibited in 1937 at Kunstindustrimuseet (today Design Museum Denmark). Tove & Edvard Kindt Larsen and maker Erhard Rasmussen. Architect Philip Arctander (1916-1994) commented: "... the wardrobe looks very good, among other things it is right to place the shoes on rods in drawers, so that they can be pulled out and not have to be hidden under the bottom of the skirts". Architect Mogens Voltelen (1908-1995) commented: "... there was one piece of furniture in there which takes a masculine and bold approach to solving a problem in a new way, and it was designed by a girl: Tove Kindt-Larsen's drawer furniture.." Literature: 'Dansk Møbelkunst Gennem 40 Aar' by Grete Jalk. Book: 1937-1946, page 26 and 27.
