1812 Light Painted Alpine Cabinet

Painted Cabinet Dated 1812 Measurements: H. 176 cm – L. 110 (120 at the frames) cm – D. 50 (55 at the frames) cm Period: 1812 Origin: Tyrol Essence: Fir Description: Antique painted wardrobe with particular decorations: the entire surface is made of fake wood veneer, in a herringbone pattern in four segments, in light blue and beige. On the shoulders and on the notches the classic “Maria Theresa of Austria” geometric interweaving motifs, with “faux marble” coloring in pale red and light blue. On the door two panels depict hills with trees. Just below the upper cornice, a band contains the unique floral decorations, the name of the first client and the date of construction. Overall the color effect is very delicate. This piece of furniture will be able to warm up any domestic environment with elegance and sobriety. Internally, the original shelf is still present, and the half shelf, with reduced depth, just below the top of the cabinet. Beautiful, original and all the hardware works. Partially restored piece of furniture, it is possible to customize the internal layout. Information on the restoration: Our laboratory guarantees the conservative restoration of each piece of furniture while respecting its integrity. Each piece of furniture is treated to guarantee solidity and hygiene. In particular, the following are carried out: – structural restoration – accurate anti-woodworm treatment – cleaning and sanitizing of interiors – external finish with natural beeswax – internal finish with shellac (alcohol-based natural paint) Upon request, we can agree on the desired degree of restoration and the customization of the internal fittings (coat hanger poles, shelves, etc…).
