17th Century English Oak Sideboard
About the Item
Period 17th century oak sideboard from England. The top is made from a single plank, and has a beveled edge, following down to paneled sides and two drawers in the front with geometric raised paneled decoration, flanked by applied half turnings on the case. The case is supported on simple legs in the back and hand turned spool legs in the front, connected by matching stretchers in the front and simple stretchers on the sides of the piece. The sideboard is raised on hand turned feet as well. It is amazing that this gorgeous piece is in such a wonderful state of preservation.
