About the Item

18th century mahogany artist's or architect's desk Unusual mahogany artist's or architect's desk. Draughtsmen, architects and amateur artists required suitable, specialist tables for drawing, reading and writing. This example has a drawer that swings out from the side for drawing materials and two drawers below, one fitted. The chest is adjustable for height with ratchet and springs and the stand has castors. English, mid 18th century, circa 1730 - 1750
