A rare and important Sheraton period painted satinwood cheveret in original finish and with original painted floral swags and garlands. The superstructure with fitted book carrier; the stand with two short drawers above a secretaire drawer, fitted with a writing slide, with shaped under-tier and on square tapering legs. This is a rather rare form, but to find it in satinwood, painted and in the original finish is very rare indeed.
