18th Century Dutch Satinwood Marquetry Secretaire a Abattant

About the Item

An 18th century Dutch satinwood abbatant or drop front desk, with gilded beading and inlaid brass stringing. The case also has various exotic woods inlaid into the satinwood. There is a drawer in the frieze above a fall-front door enclosing a fitted interior with a leather writing surface, above two lower doors.
