Louis XVI Period Walnut Chest of Drawers Dresden Germany circa 1780

About the Item

A fine Louis XVI period chest with three drawers from Dresden, Germany circa 1780. The top, front and sides feature walnut and walnut burl enhanced with an oval marquetry medallion on the top, ebony and fruitwood inlay on the square canted corners of the front legs. The exuberant design of the large patinated bronze pulls and escutcheons provide a level of dramatic panache to the entire piece.
