French 19th Century Transitional Style Kingwood and Ormolu Six Drawer Chiffonier

About the Item

An elegant French 19th century transitional St. kingwood and ormolu six drawer Chiffonier. Raised on cabriole legs with finely pierced ormolu wrap around sabots. The arbalest-shaped frieze is centered by a finely chased foliate seashell ormolu mount. Each bombée shaped drawer is decorated with quarter veneered inlaid façades, and retain foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons. The elegant side panels are also quarter veneered and framed in darker wood. At the top, above two richly chased pierced ormolu side mounts, rests the original Brèche d'Alep marble top. All original gilt and hardware.
