This is an old Japanese large Tansu separate type. This furniture is from the Meiji era. (1860's to 1900's). The material is cedar wood. The design is very simple and lean. This simplicity seems to embody Japan. The lattice sliding door creates shadows and beautiful scenes. The drawer storage, which provides abundant storage, is also attractive. We have carefully maintained it so as not to spoil its beauty and flavor with age. The lattice sliding doors open and close smoothly. All drawers also move smoothly. The entire furniture has been washed in water and disinfected. It is in excellent condition with no insect infestation. You can use it with peace of mind. This Tansu evokes the spirit of wabi-sabi, the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and impermanence. It is the opposite of vulgarity, the beauty of modesty and modesty, the beauty of the unconventional. This is a unique and very rare item. Weight: approx. 90 kg.
