19th Century Pair of Floor Mounted Bookcases in the Egyptian Revival Style

About the Item

19th Century pair of mahogany Neoclassical Style floor mounted bookcases with Egyptian revival brass mountings. The side columns are headed by exceptional cast gilt-bronze mounts in the form of Egyptian pharaoh heads and terminate in cast bronze human feet. Both bookcases feature polished brass roses and central decorative cartouches. They are raised up on plinth bases and each has a single adjustable shelf. Circa 1840.
