About the Item

An exceptional 18th-century English Windsor armchair crafted in the Midlands, circa 1790. This classic example features a hooped back with finely turned spindles, shaped arms supported by slender crinoline stretchers, and well-turned front legs. The single-plank seat is made of richly grained elm, while the remainder of the chair, including the hoop, spindles, and legs, is composed of native ash.
