About the Item

This gorgeous Italian Mid-Century Modern loveseat features a channel tufted fluted cushioned back over a curve shaped seat in brown and black cut velvet upholstery rising on tapered brass legs. Such groovy fabric, get this for your interior design project before someone else does. This 1950s Italian settee in the style of Gigi Radice for Minotti would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. MEASUREMENTS: H 34" x W 60" x D 34.5" Seat Height: 16.5" Arm Height: 24" CONDITION: Fabric was previously reupholstered and is in very good and clean overall condition with light aging and light wear. No apparent issues. Brass has light to moderate patina, can be polished. Sturdy and sound, ready to be used immediately.

This newly reupholstered loveseat sofa by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani, circa 1970s, features a graceful chrome frame with nubby white bouclé fabric. Signed with 1960s/ 1970s Sormani label as shown in photo gallery. *Note, we have the matching pair of club chairs available in another listing. The graceful frame shares a design quality with Cassina's LC2 / LC3 design by Le Corbusier, as they are 'buckets of cushions' in similar fashion and comfort. However this Sormani sofa features some unique subtle details, such as the slight "twist" in the rear legs (see photos). Signed with a Sormani label, this particular rare design is attributed to Claudio Salocchi. While there were several other famous designers who created works for Sormani in this time period, the style best matches Salocchi's work.
