The Belmont Sofa
About the Item
The Belmont sofa is based on the most elegant of the Howard & Son's models; The Baring. With a high down content in seat, back, and arm cushions, this sofa is the perfect mix of timeless design and comfort.
We build our Belmont up from a hardwood beech frame, using only traditional methods and materials. With a hand-tied coil-sprung seat and back, there is no foam used in the build up.
What makes The Belmont so comfortable is the high down content in both seat (50% down, 50% feather), arm, and back cushions (70% down, 30% feather). The down gives the cushions lovely softness, while the feathers provide loft and spring.
The castors are individually hand-cast by traditional English metal crafters to a very high standard and a variety of finishes can be achieved. We use the antique brass finish as standard.
The legs can be either tapered or turned and come in a variety of woods and finishes. We use turned medium oak legs on The Belmont as standard, inspired by the original.
The price excludes fabric. If you need some help finding the perfect fabric. It takes approximately 14 metres in a plain fabric to cover a standard Belmont. For patterns, and bespoke sizes, get in touch and we can advise on fabric quantity.
