Marvelous vintage Spanish Revival Century Furniture side chair comprised of a dark stained oak frame, & cognac leather seat & back with antiqued brass nail head trim details. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the springs have been tightened and freshly supported with new webbing and a new dust cover. When you look THIS good, being single is a good thing!!! I mean, quite easily, the BEST-looking single item on the market?? HOT STUFF!!! LOL… But seriously… this is an EXQUISITE vintage Spanish Revival style side chair by Century Furniture comprised of a dark stained Rustic oak frame with a two-toned hue featuring an absolutely GORGEOUS cognac leather covering the square seat back and an angled square seat trimmed with incredible antiqued brass staggered nail head details. It stands upon turned front legs with round ball shaped feet, a stretcher, and slightly splayed back legs. It is Spanish Revival with a Rustic and Artes De Mexico Internationales SA flair, and it is EXACTLY what the designer ordered!! It would be great in your dressing room, at the desk in your study or den, in the sitting room next to an accent table, in a corner of your bedroom, or at the entry as a fabulous spot to remove your shoes. This side chair is magnificent enough to stand on its own in practically ANY room. It’s attractive, it’s sturdy, it’s functional, and SPECTACULAR as a SOLO. Century Furniture Company, one of the world’s largest privately owned upper-end residential furniture manufacturers, was founded in 1947 by Harley Ferguson Shuford, Sr. When first formed Century Furniture was a selling agent for local upholstery lines. But as soon as a year later Shuford had built a case goods plant in Hickory, North Carolina and that started it all. Harley Shuford along with his siblings and children acquired company after company expanding into upholstered furniture, chair manufacturing, and even a leather division. Century has made it through feast and famine in the furniture business and today retains their long-standing role as a leading force in the American home furnishings market. They wear a gorgeous cognac or saddle colored faux leather fabric featuring lovely, tooled inside backs and large brass nail head designs on the sides of the seat cushions and backs, and an intricately carved designs on fronts of the high stretcher under the seats… WOW!! They are completely stunning!! These chairs will be perfect in your Hacienda styled home or with your modern country, Rustic, Southwestern, Mediterranean, Industrial, or eclectic designed living space. Awesome vintage Spanish Revival Savonarola or Curule chair with velvety chenille fabric and hammered steel nail head details. Circa, 1960-1970’s. This is a chair fit for a KING… or a QUEEN!!! This is an absolutely fabulous chair… some call it a Savonarola or Curule chair, it may also be known as a Renaissance or Dante style chair. All correct, and all very similar in style with slightly different features. It is palatial in structure with a wide U-shaped seat and frame with curved legs which create an X style base. It is comprised of gorgeous dark stained wood with horizontal turned spindles under the arms and turned stretchers on the base. The seat and back is upholstered in a fantastic gold striped velvety chenille fabric with hammered steel nail head details, and it has a carved flower motif in the center under the seat. It is sturdy, richly carved, and has a spacious, splendid design! It is Spanish Revival in style with a bit of Medieval or Renaissance Revival flair and it is sure to be an eye-catching piece in any room of your home. Incredible Late19th Century to Early 20th Century Victorian or Gothic Revival Ecclesiastical His & Hers Throne Chairs comprised of oak frames with black and gold details, red hopsacking fabric on backs & seats with gimp and nail head trim & turned front legs on casters. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the Queen chair has one new hand carved finial created by our professional craftsman and all finials have been dyed black as well as the grooves & detail all over the frame of the chairs and the rings and ball details on the legs. Circa, Late 1900’s - Early 20th Century. ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY KING AND QUEEN!!!! Talk about ABSOLUTE Royalty!!! This is a glorious pair of Gothic Revival Ecclesiastical His & Hers Throne chairs comprised of hand carved oak frames bearing engraved Gothic details, designs, and cutouts including a transcendent triple finial high back presentation worthy of nobility. Each peak is hand carved with designs resembling oak leaves and they have been intricately dyed black… they’re nothing short of fabulous. Because of the maturity of these chairs, we believe that they were probably reupholstered at some point in their lives, and they look marvelous!! They are wearing a beautiful bright cardinal red hopsacking fabric trimmed with gimp and nail head details on the seats and back inserts which also have upholstered backs. The King chair has fabric surrounding the arm rests while the Queen chair has no arms, however it does have attractive side braces. Both thrones have lovely hand carved decorative front aprons with black detail and stand proudly upon turned front legs with black dyed rings & details on casters and square straight slightly curved back legs… I mean, WOW!!!! They’re definitely Ecclesiastical and Gothic Revival but they bear a bit of East Lake Victorian style as well and they are SURE to be quite the conversation piece in your home! They would be fabulous used as host & hostess chairs at your dining table, in a conversation or waiting area, in a home library, at a his & hers dressing area, or facing the fireplace in your den or study.
