A fabulous pair of late regency period rosewood with parcel gilt side chairs, attributed to Morel & Hughes C.1820
Of the highest quality and in the typical high style of the period.
With traditionally upholstered seats, covered in a golden silk damask. Stamped ‘IL’ to seat rails.
Two matching pairs available.
Nicholas Morel and Robert Hughes were a partnership of cabinet makers whose firm was located at 13 Great Marlborough Street in London during the period 1805-26. Among their various celebrated commissions, perhaps the most renowned was the furniture that they supplied for the Prince of Wales (later to become Prince Regent before ruling as George IV) at Carlton House, London.
