About the Item
A pair of chrome dining or side chairs in suede, attributed to Milo Baughman for Directional, circa 1970. Upholstery is probably original, a sumptuous chocolate brown suede. The leather has taken the patina well - as leather is wont to do.
These chairs are very well-made; note the sturdy thickness of the hardware on verso.
Milo Baughman notably worked often with chrome, taking cues from Bauhaus efforts by designers such as Marcel Breuer and Le Corbusier et al. These particular chairs are sleeker than some of the clunkier productions of the 1970s, suggesting as well an Italian influence. Though indeed sleek and sophisticated, they are quite comfortable, and will indubitably work to elevate any interior.
