Neoclassical Antique Giltwood Upholstered Swan Armchair, Early 20th Century

About the Item

A Neoclassical carved swan armchair with upholstered seat back and seat. This antique piece is created from wood and features armrests that are carved to look like swans. The seat back is rectangular and upholstered in a cream and gold fabric with nailhead trim. The seat is upholstered in the same fabric also with nail head trim. The seat does show some wear, and we suggest reupholstery. The seat features metal springs which give it structure and make for a comfy sitting chair. The piece features giltwood trim at the top and corners as well as on the front cabriole legs. This would be a wonderful piece for a nursery, used as a side chair in a living room, or as an accent chair in a bedroom or hallway. Wear consistent with age and use. Considerable wear to the upholstery. We suggest reupholstering as well as repainting. There are some scratches and small nicks to the woodwork. Fabulous condition structurally.
