Louis XV period Canapé à Oreilles Serpentine Shaped Sofa, Settee Upholstered

About the Item

A Louis XV period Canapé à Oreilles serpentine-shaped sofa. Featuring carved detailing, decorated with floral motifs and acanthus, with original Verde paint. The seat rails display central scallop shell carved motifs raised on cabriole legs headed by foliage and terminating in foliate caps. Upholstered in a period quilted type fabric, with charming floral decorations throughout. Displaying three feather filled seat cushions, in a single removable cover. Measures: Height - 100cm Width - 197cm Depth - 105cm (approximate) Seat height - 51cm (approximate) Seat depth - 70cm (approximate).
