Roche Bobois “Paysage” sofa landscape in beige velvet by Hans Hopfer, 1974

About the Item

“Paysage” Sofa by renowned designer Hans Hopfer for Roche Bobois, designed in 1974. Designed with delicate lines reminiscent of flower petals, this sofa embodies elegance and sophistication, which invites you to relax. The name “Paysage” is translated to “Landscape” in French, following its organic lines and design. This specific design by Hans Hopfer, who is perhaps best known for his iconic Mah Jong and Dromadaire sofa, is particularly rare. Where information and knowledge on this sofa is scarce, we are proud to offer one of the only available pieces of this rare design, which is also included in the Roche Bobois Virtual Museum. This sofa is professionally reupholstered in a luxurious beige cotton velvet, following its original stichting and curves. The upholstery mends timeless design with contemporary comfort, promising a harmonious blend of style and functionality. The sofa elements are made on a black wooden base, creating a floating effect. The separate modules can be placed to your personal liking. When you feel like lounging you can simply fit the pouf into the other elements like a puzzle, to create a large lounge area. When you enjoy seating with a larger company, you can simply create a larger seat by adding the pouf next to the elements or even separate. Experience the allure of vintage luxury with this incredible Paysage sofa, a symbol of refined taste and understated elegance. Don’t miss this opportunity to own a piece of design history and a sofa which you never want to get out of! Pictures and provenance of the original state are available on request.
