Iconic and rare chair and ottoman in sculpted walnut with black leather seat and inset leather backrest by Phillip Lloyd Powell, American early-1960s. The craftsmanship of this chair and ottoman is superb. Newly refinished and reupholstered in black calfskin with new webbing by Lobel Modern. Reference: Paul Evans, Crossing Boundaries and Crafting Modernism by Constance Kimmerle, Arnoldsche Art Publishers published in 2014. There are photos of this model chair and ottoman shown on pages 23 and 146.
