Pair of French Modernist Constructivist Lounge Chairs, 1950's

About the Item

This stunning pair of French modernist lounge chairs, designed in the constructivist spirit of René Gabriel and André Sornay, exemplifies the bold yet functional aesthetic of mid-century French design. With a angular solid wood frame, these chairs showcase expert craftsmanship and a dynamic architectural presence. The elegantly tapered legs and sculptural armrests reflect the influence of post-war "Reconstruction" furniture, known for its clean angular lines and durable construction. The original patinated ochre velvet cushions add a warm, inviting contrast to the rich wood tones, enhancing their vintage charm. In good original condtion, structurally solid. Cushions with light signs of pre-use.
