Finn Juhl Bwana Lounge Chair & Ottoman

About the Item

Denmark, ca. 1960s. A rare Model 152 Bwana Lounge Chair by Finn Juhl for France & Son - retailed by John Stuart of NYC. Features solid teak construction with a high back, sculptural curved arms, and floating seat. Distinctive pommel handrests and overall organic form are indicative of Juhl’s sophisticated approach to design. Originally intended to be an updated version of the Chieftain Chair, this piece is sure to become to focal point of any living space or reading nook. Freshly upholstered in a dark green Danish wool from Maharam, we have paired the chair with a teak Finn Juhl ottoman (also made by France & Son, ca. 1960s) that works perfectly with it. Both wood frames have been professionally refurbished and are in excellent condition with attractive patina. Beautifully made, generously proportioned, and ready for its next chapter. Dimensions: 32.75” wide x 31.5” deep x 36” high; 17.5” seat height (chair), 23” wide x 17.5” deep x 14.75” high (ottoman).
