1950's Lounge Chair Attributed to Madsen & Schubell

About the Item

Ultra cool 1950's chair attributed to Danish designer duo Madsen & Schubell. The chair closely resembles the duo's famous "Pragh" chair and we speculate that this is either an early proto type version or perhaps a custom model as only really the armrests differ from the Pragh chair. The frame legs and armrests are made from stained beech wood. The seat is slightly raised towards the front and the armrests are following its curves to ensure sitting comfort. The back is angled and has little “wings” on top, providing an ergonomic and welcoming look. Wear is consistent with age and use. The chair retains its original finish and upholstery in nice vintage condition with age appropriate wear. The finish does show some signs of wear with minimal scratches and dings. We are able to reupholster the chair at a very competitive price and it would look fantastic in shearling or lambswool.
