Rare Full Set Of 12 Regency Period Carved Mahogany Elbow Dining Armchairs Seats. All 12 Mahogany Chairs are armchairs CIRCA 1820 . A Curved bar crest rails with S Scroll Carving with reeded arm supports and saber legs with slip-in seats that makes it easy to maintain and store away. Many of the genuine Regency chairs made during that period did not survive the trials of use and time. you can find Two Armchairs and the rest regular chairs but this set is very UNUSUAL Rare and elegant and with ALL 12 are Armchairs on reeded Saber legs . Each chair Numbered.

The Regency era itself is most commonly defined as a period that spanned roughly forty years from 1795 to 1837, which also encompassed the reign of the Prince Regent of Great Britain. The Prince Regent ruled as the proxy for his father, King George III, until the passing of the king in 1820 when the Prince assumed the throne as King George IV. - Condition:Additions or alterations made to the original: The upholstery have been done many times over the centuries. a high end fabric , overall great condition. Scratches and nicks etc .. as expected but overall good. Reupholstered. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Not that i have seen, incredibly good condition, of course some signs of age is apparent through the centuries as seen in the pics. you are welcome to see them in person at La Maison Francaise Antiques, by appointment only. thank you.
