George Nakashima for Knoll Attr. Straight Chairs Mid Century Modern - Set of 4

About the Item

Designed by George Nakashima for Knoll in 1946, the N19 chair was intended as a mass-produced counterpoint to the Nakashima Studio’s popular “Straight Chair.” This is an early production, has the spindle back of the Windsor chair, with a smooth, curved band for a backrest supported by tapered dowels. Chairs are unmarked. Other notable designers from the period include; Edward Wormley, Vladimir Kagan, Harvey Probber, Paul McCobb.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Chairs are in good vintage condition with small wear present consistent with age and use. Two chairs have some slight separation. One chair seems to have been repaired on the bottom. Please see photos for reference.
