Arts and Crafts Amsterdamse School Set of Six Chairs by Jac. Van den Bosch, 1909

About the Item

Set of six dining room chairs, Amsterdamse School, historical museum worthy quality, Dutch design furniture designed by Jac Van den Bosch for 't Binnenhuis, Amsterdam. The set of six chairs are in original good condition. The furniture is signed with a branding stamp and a metal furniture plate of 't Binnenhuis, Amsterdam. In our collection the complete living room set with Dressoir OPUS 880, Oval dining table with 6 chairs, all signed. Jac Van den Bosch was one of the founders and initially deputy director of a company and studio for interior design, 't Binnenhuis, together with H.P. Berlage. An ideological concept the household goods to be purchased had to be of good quality, well designed, functional and sober but with attention to design and functionality. It also had to be affordable for citizens. Because the pursuit of quality and durability did not match the price/quality ratio, the products soon became more expensive than ideologically intende Signed back line: 't Binnenhuis Rokin 120 Amsterdam’ monogram, back line: ‘Jvd.
