10 Victorian 1880 Walnut Shepherds Crook Hand Dyed Brown Leather Dining Chairs

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this very rare suite of ten original fully restored Victoria Walnut framed cabriolet legged dining chairs with cigar brown leather upholstery These chairs are available as a set of ten, I also have a set of six listed under my other items and I have six more all with arms which are being restored with new leather These are a very rare and important suite of chairs, they have walnut frames with Georgian Irish carved cabriolet legs and Shepherds crook arms on the carvers. The arm style dates back to the late 18th century and was designed by Robert Gillows In terms of the restoration the timber has all been washed back stained and polished, the leather has had the remainder of the old colour stripped out, they have then been hand dyed six times, antiqued and sealed, they are an amazing suite Standard chair dimensions Height:- 92cm Width:- 52cm Depth:- 56cm Seat height:- 45cm Pair of carver chair dimensions Height:- 94cm Width:- 60cm Depth:- 59cm Seat height:- 45.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
