Pair Distressed Cognac Leather French Art Deco Mustache Cigar Club Chairs
About the Item
This is a stunning pair of painstakingly and meticulously crafted re-edition of the famous cognac distressed leather "Mustache" French Art Deco club chairs originally made famous from the 1920s for use in gentlemen's clubs and cigar lounges. The frames are made of solid oak and hand-laid plywood fronts for the fascia and back. The leather is a beautiful deep cognac or whiskey color and we have many additional swatches are shown as well for the ultimate in customizable chair that's truly "yours" and yours alone. (Please note- Custom-colors are non-returnable unless we approve and already stock it) Each chair is incredibly heavy at over 100lbs and has a medium firmness and very comfortable raked back. The chairs feature solid oak frames made like the originals and all hand-made and single panel leather construction for each panel. Not multiple panels of leather as in modern reproductions commonly seen at department stores which is a cost-saving measure. We spared no expense for these to be made exactly as the originals. There are no seams to be found anywhere. These are hand-made chairs and bespoke so no two are alike and will show minor variations in tonality and shading but will be made as pairs so pairs will match in color exactly. Single chairs are available so please ask for a separate listing and price. The leather cushion is a double-sided cushion so it can be rotated and wear evenly over time. The hand-applied brass nail head trim is meticulously done and absolutely adds that certain special sense of timeless elegance that only the original chairs were able to evoke. The nailheads can be bright, antiqued or even hand-wrought steel nails for a more rustic look. The finished leather come in pebble, smooth (as shown) and crackled-aged leather like an old-weathered leather bomber jacket or baseball glove. They each measure 36 inches deep x 37.5 wide x 30.5 tall x 17.5 inches for the seat height.
