Jean-Michel Frank and Adolphe Chanaux Pair "Armchair 40" Club Chairs by Ecart

About the Item

Jean Michel Frank and Adolphe Chanaux for Ecart International Pair of Club Chairs, "Armchair 1940". Ecart has re-edited this design and has been producing it from their Paris showroom since 1987. This set was purchased in 2001. The chairs are covered in a Joseph Noble wool mohair with a cotton Cowtan & Tout welt. Feet are solid varnished oak. This set would cost approximately $15,000 plus shipping if purchased new. The fabric has a luxurious feel and the chairs are very comfortable. The upholstery is plush and soft yet firm. There is only slight wear to the feet and minor fading to the fabric which is difficult to see given the light color and pattern. It is a fabulous French Deco design that will fit into any modern, transitional or even traditional room design. Overall measurements of each chair is 36 1/2 inch wide, 36 1/2 inch deep, 36 1/4 inch high with a seat height of 17".
