American Chaise Lounge in Orange Fabric T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings

About the Item

Elegant chaise lounge from the 1960s by the great American designer T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings . The chaise lounge is the perfect piece of furniture in the Classic American style, where elegance and comfort are the masters. The chaise lounge is restored and refreshed with a spectacular fabric. The upholstered cushions guarantee excellent seating comfort. The chaise lounge is characterized by a wooden frame with a typically classical line: Gibbins has taken the classicism of Greek forms in his designs and transformed them into timeless, refined pieces typical of the classical style. Their elegance conveys warmth and importance. The wooden frame features inserts that reinforce the Greek lines. The upholstered backrest lends elegance and comfort. The lounge chair is ideal for classy living rooms with a Classic, traditional feel. Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings is a British-born architect, decorator, furniture designer, taste-maker and thinker whose innovative ideas in the field of interior design during the post-war period had a formative impact on American taste in interiors. In the emergence of American middle-class style during the formative years of modernism, the architect studied played a significant role in steering popular taste away from Art Moderne and towards an authentic American modernism shared with Paul McCobb, Estelle & Levine Laverne and Edward Wormley.
