19th Century English William and Mary Walnut Chaise Longue

About the Item

Distinctive 19th century English chaise longue or lounge crafted from rich walnut. Made in the grand William and Mary taste and decorated with scrolled supports. The seat has been re-upholstered in a plush, soft fabric with a very deep cushion. Originally cane the longue is now supported with strapping and fabric. The seat back features an inset of woven cane and a large bolster pillow. Beautifully crafted with gracefully curved Baroque style stretchers and acanthus accents. The crest is decorated with a crown in the center and finials on each side.
