"Antique Berkey & Gay dining chairs. A beautiful blend of William & Mary, Jacobean and gothic styling. circa 1905-1929. Made of solid walnut featuring a straight crest rail with diamond patterned design between fluted stiles and spindle back with geometric central panel. Each chair is embroidered with a floral spray and supported by turned legs at the front and square legs at the rear. Legs are connected by an ""H"" stretcher. The larger captains chair features an ""S"" scrolled crest rail between acanthus accents and is charachterized by an embroidered back and shapely arms. The chairs are marked along the underside with Berkey & Gay's first makers mark.
