Set of Ten 19th Century Swedish Late Gustavian Chairs

About the Item

A rare and stunning set of ten Swedish Late Gustavian chairs made in Lindome. Rectangular back with leaf cut detailing on three sides. The top has a floral motif leading to a crown of hops. Back tray in the form of connected slotted pieces surrounds a unique center carving. The chair base repeats the floral and hop design in the front with leaf cut detailing on the sides and elaborate fleurons in between. The leg tops are finished with over-collaring with oval details atop turned bases. Supported by h-cross construction. This piece has been meticulously scraped to its original soft grey/green color and slip seats reupholstered in linen.
