Set of four mid-19th century Karl Johan Swedish side chairs made of birchwood with ebonized top rail and details. The Karl Johan period is the equivalent of Biedermeier in Germany and Austria and follows the Gustavian period in Sweden.

This set of antique board chairs from England each have been ornately hand-carved in a series of grotesque figures, embellished with swags, volutes, leaves.
