Set of 6 Øresund Model 537 Chairs by Børge Mogensen

About the Item

Early set of 6 Øresund model 537 dining chairs in oak and rush seats, designed by Børge Mogensen. Produced in Sweden by Karl Andersson & Söner. The Danish designer Børge Mogensen designed a whole series of furniture aptly named after the Øresund bridge which connects Denmark and Sweden; referring to the collaboration between the Danish designer and Swedish furniture maker. The quality of the chairs is truly stunning. Designed and crafted in the spirit of Shaker furniture, working to create heaven on earth. Key elements are functionalism, simplicity, quality craftsmanship, use of natural and local materials, proportion and balance, modesty and humility. In essence a celebration of honest design, where form follows function, and beauty arises from simplicity, quality, and purposeful craftsmanship. The chairs are in very good and original condition. HxWxDxSH: 75cm x 52cm x 47cm x 44cm The matching Øresund table is also available.
