Pair of Rosewood and Rope Seat Chairs Designed by George Nakashima

About the Item

A pair of simple, clean-lined and elegantly designed rosewood chairs by George Nakashima, with a rope cord seat. These were produced by the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India who had invited George Nakashima to visit and design pieces in their workshop. They had continued to be produced from his detailed designs into the 1970's. They feature a lovely curved back, tapered legs and a rope cord seat which has been recently redone. A perfect occasional and stylish chair and easy to place into any room. The Lockhart Collection is a personally curated gallery of antiques and fine jewelry, owned and operated by Deborah Lockhart Phillips. The antiques and vintage pieces encompass Nautical Artifacts & Instruments, Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern Furniture and Lighting, British Campaign furniture, and of course the finds that simply defy being categorized. The Lockhart Collection is a notable and trusted resource for many interior designers and movie production companies.
