About the Item

Introducing a rare and beautiful single bentwood Prague Model 811 side chair by the renowned designers Josef Frank and Josef Hoffmann for Stendig. Designed in the 1960s, this chair is a true representation of Mid-Century Modern design and craftsmanship. Constructed from bentwood walnut, the chair retains it's original condition with light signs of wear and patina consistent with age. The caned seat and back are also original and add an elegant touch to the design. The tapered legs and sculpted backrest create a sleek and sophisticated look that will complement any dining room or living space. The Bentwood Prague Model 811 is a highly sought-after design, and this single chair is a rare find. It is the perfect addition to any interior design enthusiast or collector looking for a true piece of Mid-Century Modern history. Josef Frank and Josef Hoffmann were both renowned architects and designers of the early 20th century. Frank was known for his use of color and pattern in his designs, while Hoffmann was recognized for his geometric and linear styles. Together, they created a unique aesthetic that was both modern and timeless. Stendig is a well-known furniture manufacturer known for its high-quality, mid-century modern designs. Founded in the 1960s, the company continues to produce iconic designs that are sought after by collectors and interior designers alike. This Bentwood Prague Model 811 side chair is not only a stunning piece of furniture but also a piece of art. Add it to your collection today and enjoy the beauty of Mid-Century Modern design in your home. ---Dimensions--- Width: 17.5 in / 44.45 cm Depth: 21 in / 53.34 cm Height: 32.5 in / 82.55 cm Seat Height: 18 in / 45.72 cm This elegant bentwood Prague Model 811 side chair is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to a perfect patina! The bentwood walnut frame and legs do show some signs of vintage wear such as light nicks and surface scratches (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). With that said the wood is structurally sound and weight-bearing. The original caning is in remarkably excellent original condition showing no fraying, broken strands or stains whatsoever with only minor warping in the shape of the backrest (which can be seen in the detail photos provided). The caning on both the backrest and seat are structurally sound and weight bearing. This now iconic Model 811 side chair is incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for decades more of use. Please view all photos and video for details on this 811's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so additional photos and videos are available upon request.

Introducing a rare and limited set of eight Model 71 dining chairs designed by the incomparable Niels Møller for J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, crafted in the 1960s in Denmark. These stunning chairs are constructed from a mix of solid and veneered Burmese teak and feature a sculptural seat back that adds a touch of elegance and comfort to the design, while the tapered legs add a sense of lightness and airiness.
