Hedstrom 1950s Metal Frame Saucer Folding Hoop Circle Lounge Chair Hair Pin Leg
About the Item
Extremely rare circa 1950s Hedstrom circle chair. Midcentury design. Heavy metal (iron) circular frame with hair pin legs. Both legs fold inward for easy storage and transit. Thick cotton canvas chair cover overlaps circular frame with wire that loops through canvas opening. Legs are locked in place by two separate slides that are pushed over the stops on the braces. Current cover is brown; leans towards a medium camel brown color. One extra canvas chair cover is included in this purchase. Extra chair cover is green (leans towards an army green color) and is in the original packaging with an original order receipt from Sears Roebuck & Co., Chicago, IL. We have not opened this extra chair cover from its packaging. This chair/cover design allows for a wide comfortable seating position, allowing you to sink in and relax.
Hedstrom Union Company was located in Dothan, Alabama. This company specialized in making toys and furniture. This particular Mid-Century Modern piece can be seen imitated in contemporary furniture designs.
