Biedermeier Eclectic Set Unique Set of 10 Dining Chairs Each in Different Design

About the Item

I'm proposing here the last (in order of posting) Biedermeier set. Made of ten different style of chairs. I have such a mixed emotion on this project. In one way I feel the regret of breaking in smaller lots one of the widest collections of XIX chairs. On the other I was appointed to find a new home the most of the chairs, with the goal of going where they will be appreciated. The idea of grouping in eclectic sets has been a perfect intuition and the best way to evaluate a collection of single pieces, making these unique pieces usable as they were intended to be. This is the last set on the Biedermeier group. I was hoping to make two sets of 6 but there was not the right combination and this is absolutely stunning. On the first two we focused on similar height and seat, here we felt more freedom and the group is incredible. I wish I had 100 photos to publish for the details. After this I will start working on completing the empire and directoire (that was difficult!) sets. I indulged more on details, because this is what happens when you have the set to see. At first you admire the explosion of freedom coming from the abandoning of trying to please aristocrats. Then you just focus on details, curves carvings. Some details are definitively leading to some of the modern designs and some are anchored to the empire past. Just an unique set for a customer who wants his home to speak about not having repetitions. Each guest is special and different from the other so why and shouldn't the chairs be like that! From a Biedermeier collector in Verona, chairs will be sent as they are or complimentary reupholstered and with a French polish and wax refreshment layer. Listed measure is the first one on the left of the upper row. Complete list of measures will be sent on request. Listed as country of origin Austria however the Biedermeier sets has a wider area belonging: what is called Mittel-European (Middle-European) XIX century cultural area. So that is what is today Germany, Czech, Slovachia, Austria, Slovenia, Northern Italy. It was the style of the growing middle class. It's the world that started design adventure and was wiped out by the tragedies of the following century. Here the measures of the first two from the left of each row upper left height 96,5 cm, width 44 cm, depth 47 cm lower left height 95,5 cm, width 45 cm, depth 49 cm.
