About the Item

A pair of French Louis XVI style armchairs, 'bergères à oreilles', circa 1880. Created in France, during the 19th century. These chairs feature a wingback design with hand carved motifs of ribbons, flanked with petite flowers and foliage adorning the upper back. The two arms showcase scrolled ends, accented with acanthus leaves. The legs are tall and fluted. The chairs are upholstered with a in a vintage velvet and have feather seat cushions.
