Primitive Antique 1740 Spanish 18th Century Three Legged Bench or Coffee Table

About the Item

We are is delighted to offer for sale this stunning, super rare 18th century Spanish primitive three legged bench which can be used as a coffee table. This has to be one of the oldest and most charming pieces I have ever seen, it dates to circa 1740 so its over 280 years old, it was designed as a bench for a farm most likely, it looks like a milking stool but those were much smaller, this wouldn't work for that function so I have no idea what it was intended for. The piece has been used this and last century as a coffee table, it has so much character it commands attention from all whom gave upon it! The timber is primitive and lightly burred to the top, the whole piece has been lightly restored by my French polisher, he has made sure it is 100% solid and stable and lightly sealed the finish, that's it In terms of its function as a bench, I strongly recommend against it, if you sit on it in the wrong place with your whole body weight it will tip over, being long and three legged it's not as stable as a four legged piece, I would suggest sticking to "stunning coffee table" otherwise you might find yourself on the floor with a sore bottom Dimensions Height:- 40cm Width:- 125cm Depth:- 38cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF.  CONDITION Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
