About the Item

Four stools or benches with gilt organic form bases and pony hair seats attributed to Malcolm McLaren. The pieces have been described as "rare, exotic, visionary and transcendent". They blend elements of nature with their undulating form and pony hair seats to an acute ironic post-modern sensibility. They represent the unknown and can evoke a sense of surprise and uncertainty while maintaining a deep, captivating sense of beauty. And, you can also comfortably sit on them! Please note: these pieces are priced and sold individually. Malcom McLaren & Vivienne Westwood were the owner and designer for the Punk and Bondage shop, SEX located on the Kings Road, Chelsea, West London, UK. McLaren managed the New York Dolls and Sex Pistols and created a series of successful fashion lifestyle ventures with Westwood. He passed in 2010. He was a great visionary who understood societal chaos, economic and social dis-satisfaction and along with Westwood was able to transform it creatively into lifestyle fashions and products.
