About the Item

Rare Antique Windsor Form Pine Deacons Bench. Bench consists of flat crest rail supported by 27 spindles with arms crook arms terminating at a shaped bench seat, supported by eight turned legs. Dimensions 35 in. H, 87 in. W, 21 in. D Provenance From the Historic home Woburn Manor, Sharpsburg Maryland. Built in 1820 by Judge Thomas Buchanan, this home has been placed on the national register of Historic places by the United States department of the interior. Acquired at Alex Cooper Auctions.

Condition:

Repaired: Wood glue added to stabilize some loose spindles. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. Excellent used condition. Wear consistent with age (early 1800s) and use. Wear throughout, nicks, scratches. Some spindles have been restored / reinforced with furniture glue.
